HP India has launched seven new Designjet large format printers, including four printers and three MFPs. The move is aimed at offering affordable and improved printing solutions for geographic information systems (GIS), architecture, engineering and construction (ACE), and mechanical computer aided design workgroups.
According to Puneet Chadha, Director, Graphic Solutions Business & Printing Group, In India, the market share of digital printing is very low, around six percent. The market is largely dominated by conventional, offset printings. Therefore, we see huge digital printing opportunities, and this year our focus would be of transformation into large format digital printing.
On go-to-market strategy for new printers, he said, We will be introducing the new range of printers to our 80 Deginjet business partners located in 40 cities across India. However, our intention is not to sell printer as a box item, and are investing on our partners and an ecosystem, where they can sell and service to their customers.
Our partners and customers can buy our printers on rental and leasing model. Moreover, they also have options of recycling programmes for ink cartridges and buy back offers on time to time period, said Aniruddha Rotiwar, County MVC Manager IPG, HP India.
